First Quarter 2004:

March was indeed a great month for the Tau Kappa Epsilon Alumni Association! The RCB was a great time and anyone who attended would agree. We have several things in the works already for next year's RCB, and we hope many more Alumni will be able to attend next year. At the RCB, we recognized a few people for their efforts. The first award given out was called the Alumni Service Award. This award is presented to two fraters each year in recognition of outstanding service and dedication to the MA Alumni Association and/or Board of Advisors and/or Undergraduate Chapter. This award honors non-monetary contributions.

The two who received this award were Greg Barber and Scott Uhl. They both were the landslide favorites for this award and rightfully so. Here is what one frater who nominated Greg Barber had to say about him, "Greg has displayed an amazing dedication to our Fraternity. He assumed the role of VP of Recruitment and Retention for a large segment of our scroll (1-275), and has far surpassed any expectations of that position. There has been more growth in alumni involvement and attendance from his portion of the scroll than from the other two segments. Greg has gone above and beyond what is expected of him in his position."

Another Frater who nominated Scott Uhl had this to say about him, "He has been instrumental in drafting the architectural designs to refurbish the garage into an Alumni House. He has also been unselfish in offering his home for Homecoming events. Scott's home is open for BOA meetings as well. He is our poster boy when it comes to being a Mu Alpha Frater in the Bond."

Past winners of the Alumni Service Award are: 2002 - Justin Zigner, MA 416 and Jody Yozviak, MA 398

Along with the Alumni Service Award, 4 fraters also joined the esteemed "626 Club" in 2003 and they were also recognized. Named for the address of the TKE house at 626 S. High Street, this award recognizes financial contributions. Fraters whose total donations amount to $626.00 or more are inducted into the club. I am happy to announce that 4 fraters joined this club and we honored them at the RCB. Those fraters are: Scott Uhl, Jody Yozviak, Justin Zigner, and JD Guckert. We hope to honor many more people with this award at next years RCB!!

Past inductees to the 626 Club include: 2002 - Todd Sherman, MA 359 and the TKE-MA Board of Advisors

I would like to offer congratulations to Fraters Dave Rittenhouse and Bill White. Dave just opened his own insurance company in New Jersey, and Bill was just recently elected to the WCU Board of Directors. Those are great accomplishments indeed!!

March was a special month for another frater as well. Frater John Verno became a full-time member of the Amtrak Police Department!

Contributions and payments to the Tau Kappa Epsilon Alumni Association of West Chester University are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. However, they may be deductible under other provisions of the Internal Revenue Code.
