Alumni Donations and Financial Information
No other Fraternity at WCU can offer its alumni and undergraduates all that we do. In May of 2004, we launched our Apollo Charge. The outline below shows how the money raised will be disbursed. The first portion of these funds would cover our operating costs (which we have been successful in dramatically reducing in the past year), and then the Leadership Development Fund, which pays for the education and leadership activities described above, and finally to the new Academic and Scholarship Fund.
If you wish to contribute, you may do so online via those friendly folks at PayPal by clicking the "Make a donation" button to the left, or you can send a check payable to "TKE Alumni Assoc. of WCU." and mail it to the following address:

Distribution of Incoming Donations for 2005 Apollo Charge:
The first $500.00 goes into our General Alumni Fund for our operating expenses. These include the following items: TKE Biannual Alumni Association Fee, Mailings (Newsletters, Postcards, Thank You Letters), Engravement of Undergraduate Badges with Scroll Number, Cherry and Gray Graduation Cords, Initiation Stoles and Carnations, Meeting Room Fees, Alumni Service Awards, and 626 Club Awards.
The distribution of the next $3000.00 raised is as follows:
- The first $1250.00 goes into our Leadership Development Fund, of which we have spent (on average):
- $700.00 to send the Prytanis to UIFI.
- $125.00 for one frater to TKE Leadership Academy
- $425.00 (minimum) divided by as many fraters that go to the Regional Leadership Conference
- The next $250.00 will become our new Recruitment Fund to help support undergraduate recruitment events and training.
- The next $500 will become our Academic Incentive Fund, overseen by the Campus Advisor (dinner for guys on Dean's List, little awards...or other ideas).
- The next $1000.00 allows the creation of two scholarships of $500.00 each. These would be presented to the frater with the highest GPA of the year and the frater with the most improved GPA of the year. Bookstore Gift Certificates would be purchased to ensure this goes towards academic purposes. Alternatively, the scholarships would be credited directly to the student's WCU account.
Any additional funds raised (from this, other fundraisers, or overflow general donations) will be directed into the General Fund. Excess funds (>$500.00) in the General Fund at the end of the year will be redistributed into our other funds based on need at that time.
Contributions and payments to the Tau Kappa Epsilon Alumni Association of West Chester University are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. However, they may be deductible under other provisions of the Internal Revenue Code.
